Create playlists

Make a playlist on Spotify from SpotifyCares on Vimeo.

Pick your device for how to create, edit, and delete playlists.

Mobile & Tablet

Make a playlist

  1. Tap Your Library Your Library icon.
  2. Tap Add icon at the top.
  3. Name your playlist and tap CREATE.
  4. Tap ADD SONGS or choose from our recommendations.

 

 

Add to a playlist

After you create a playlist tap ADD SONGS for suggestions. Swipe right or Search to find more.

Or, add to it later:

  1. Tap Horizontal 3 dots icon  (iOS) / Vertical 3 dots icon (Android) on what you want to add.
  2. Tap Add to Playlist.
  3. Select a playlist.

 

Edit a playlist

Tap Horizontal 3 dots icon  (iOS) / Vertical 3 dots icon (Android) on the playlist, then Edit:

  • Remove with Remove icon
  • To reorder, tap, hold, and drag Move track icon (Premium only)

 

Delete a playlist

  1. Tap Horizontal 3 dots icon  (iOS) Vertical 3 dots icon (Android) on the playlist.
  2. Tap Delete Playlist.
Desktop

Make a playlist

  1. Click Create Playlist in the side menu.
  2. Edit the name and other details.
  3. Click SAVE.

Tip: You can also use your keyboard’s shortcuts. Cmd-N (for Mac) or Ctrl-N (for Windows).

 

Add to a playlist

  1. Right-click what you want to add.
  2. Click Add to Playlist.
  3. Select a playlist.

You can also drag and drop tracks into a playlist.

Tip: When you’ve made a playlist, right-click it and select Create Similar Playlist. This is a quick way to build your collection while adding some variety.

 

Edit a playlist

To remove a song:

  1. Right-click what you want to remove.
  2. Select Remove from this Playlist.

To reorder songs, simply drag and drop them to the position you want.

 

Delete a playlist

  1. Right-click the playlist.
  2. Click Delete.

Need some inspiration?

Get Recommended Songs at the bottom of each playlist you create. It suggests songs based on what you’ve already added and the playlist’s title.

Suggested songs

For: Spotify free on mobile and tablet

We suggest tracks and artists as you create and edit your playlists. The more you listen, the better suggestions will get.

If you have fewer than 15 songs in your Liked Songs playlists, we’ll give you Extra songs based on what we think you’ll like. You can replace them by adding more songs yourself, just tap Like icon  on anything you love.
